Mike is a candidate who meets his commitments.
When Mike was re-elected in 2016, he committed to priorities like better broadband, beach nourishment and economic development for Wahkiakum County. How did he do? Watch and find out.
All of this was done as a team with committed fellow commissioners, volunteers, and regional partners. Mike is a team builder!
I am a two term county commissioner, serving Wahkiakum County from a working man’s approach. As a lifelong commercial fisherman, my work is paid by the pound. I bring that work ethic to my service as county commissioner. I serve. I see myself as a public servant. I do my best to be approachable, and I think most people in the county know that I encourage them to be involved in local process. I am involved in community groups, like Lions Club, Grays River Grange, and lately Sons of Norway, so I can hear the issues and be part of our community, without a filter.
I am a coalition builder. I have worked with local, state, and regional entities to make Wahkiakum stronger. I have always advocated for Wahkiakum. It is a big part of this job to make sure our outside partners understand how we work together, so we don’t get left out.
I am proud that as a county board we have worked together and have been professional. In a time with national divide, we can work from issue to issue, and keep moving forward. Wahkiakum County first, period.
I take the responsibility of being a county commissioner very seriously. I not only take my fair share of commissioner duties as assigned, but I look for ways to leverage this position to help the county.
